It is with great reverence that I name this jacket the Roadster. That's almost suggesting some kind of equal footing with MG's, Austin Healey's, Alfa's, Triumphs, Porsches, Jaquars, '32 Fords and all those great automobiles that stirred my soul in the early 60's and to this day. If I wrote a book it would probably be entitled, Roadsters I Have Known and Loved. I have driven them with a stalwart loyalty in the face of their quirky, crotchety, Spartan and often ill-mannered and unreliable ways. The dichotomy of it all is that these well-known temperamental traits pale in comparison with the pure unadulterated pleasure and sense of freedom I always found in driving one.
Before I get too carried away, let's shift gears and talk about the jacket. It's a bit heavier than the others in our line. I don't believe you'd ever wear it out. More than anything, it reminds me of an early, civilian-style flight jacket.
The Roadster is made of soft, pebble grain cowhide; however, you don't have to handle it with kid gloves. It has three solid brass zippered pockets, three brass underarm eyelets, and adjustable side tabs to snug up for a closer fit. It also has an inside breast pocket in addition to an inside vertical pocket that closes with a sturdy snap. Fully lined with the Col. Littleton signature plaid lining - acetate sleeve lining.
Perfect for tooling around in your Roadster or even riding the motorcycle. I only hope wearing mine will help assuage the daily anguish I feel for selling my '57 Porsche Speedster for $1925 in the late '60's. Brown. Imported. Professionally leather clean.
